Intensity 3 Earthquake

* * *

Masyado rin kasi akong idealistic, as much as possible ayoko ng may pinapagalitan.

I always treat them as my teammates more than my subordinates.

Ang wish ko ngayong Pasko ay...

World Peace! Hehehe...

But come to think of it... it's a wish that promotes selflessness, and I am way too serious to tell you that.

Sabi nga ng iba, as our generation becomes modernized, Christmas is becoming more commercialized. I may agree with that, but one specific Christmas Song gives me an alternative view regarding the true meaning of this religious celebration that almost everybody is waiting for, yearly.

And that song is entitled "My Grown Up Christmas List". It may sound "corny" or mushy to others, but for me, it's really a nice Christmas Hymn to listen to this holiday season. The song was sang by different artist singers including Metafour (Pinoy Band), David Foster, Cattski, Monica and Natalie Cole, Kelly Clarkson, etc. Here is the lyrics of the song:

Do you remember me
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you
With childhood fantasies

Well, I’m all grown up now
And still need help somehow
I’m not a child
But my heart still can dream

So here’s my lifelong wish
My grown up Christmas list
Not for myself
But for a world in need

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
and wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up Christmas list

As children we believed
The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely
Wrapped beneath our tree

Well heaven only knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal
A hurting human soul

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up Christmas list

What is this illusion called the innocence of youth
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth
(there’d be)

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, oh
This is my grown up Christmas list

This is my grown up Christmas list

So if anyone tells you that his/her wish for this Christmas is "World Peace", don't laugh. It's actually what we really need this time, because before we can achieve world peace, remember that peace of mind shall come first.

Beowulf

Pride is the Curse.

We watched Beowulf at SM Clark just awhile ago. As usual, I were with my college friends Elmer and Glenn. But prior to that, Berns texted me, hahabol na lang daw sila. Ewan ko lang kung paano sila hahabol. Hehehe... Eventually, kaming tatlo lang ang nanood.

About the movie, at first, I thought it would be boring and stale. But surprisingly, the movie somehow blows me away. Ang ganda ng cinematography, and Glenn commented that it was even better than Final Fantasy. I am not a fan of that flick or even the video game itself, so I don't have the idea how "better" it was. Hehehe...

The story of Beowulf is not completely unknown to us. And I even remember the mask of my former classmate when she portrayed Grendel, a terrifying monster in the story. Haha.. a female classmate portraying a male gigantic monster in their class presentation! But in fairness, she did very well... and that's probably a compliment on her part. LOL!

Back to the movie, Ray Winstone is very good in the movie. Good for him as he will not be counted in my "Lousiest Actors and Actresses" list. Hahaha... Mapanglait talaga ako... Ok naman siya as a warrior and eventually the hero of the Heorot Empire. But I don't think he will be nominated in next year's Academy Awards as Best Leading Actor. Period.

Angelina Jolie played the role of Grendel's Mother... unknown name. And even in the book, I think that her real name was not revealed, not so sure about that fast fact. However, she still looked pretty and sexy, though. I just couldn't figure out why in the hell that beautiful sea-creature lady will give birth to a monstrous creature? Fiction, that is. Hahaha...

Fighting Scenes were superb! No doubt about it.

Other characters also did well.

As a whole, enjoy naman ang panonood namin. Hehehe...

So, if I were to rate that movie... I give it 8.25 out of perfect 10. Not bad.
