Oscar 2013 Awards FEARFUL Forecast

Bukas na malalaman ang mga magwawagi sa Academy Awards.

Well, for me, above average naman ang batch na ito in terms of quality and entertainment value ng mga nominado. Ma-feeling akong sabihin yan. LOL!

At dahil napanood ko lahat ng Best Picture Nominee, at bilang lang ang hindi ko napanood na may nominasyon other than Best Picture, eto na ang aking kaabang-abang na prediksyon sa mga posibleng magwawagi. Again, ma-feeling akong sabihin yan.. hehehe..

BEST PICTURE

Life of Pi pa rin ako! Kahit na sinasabing "less" ang appeal nito sa mga critic kumpara sa mga kalaban nito, ito pa rin ang aking Best Picture. Basahin nyo na lang ang previous posts ko sa mga ranking ng pelikula. Surprisingly, maraming movie critic ang pabor sa Zero Dark Thirty to bag the trophy, which for me, is my least favorite. Mas gugustuhin ko pa ang Argo na manalo, but I just wonder, bakit hindi nominado as Best Director si Ben Affleck? Usually, kung Best Picture ang isang pelikula, Best Director din dapat ito.

BEST ACTOR

Lahat ng pelikulang may Best Actor na pambato ay napanood ko. Ito ang aking ranking:

1] Hugh Jackman, Les Miserables

2] Bradley Cooper, Silver Linings Playbook

3] Joaquin Phoenix, The Master

4] Denzel Washington, Flight

5] Daniel Day-Lewis, Lincoln

Again, least favorite ko si Daniel Day-Lewis. Pero maraming nagsasabi na makukuha nya ang tropeo. We'll see.

BEST ACTRESS

Napanood ko rin lahat ito. This year, maglalaban ang dalawang babae na pinakabata Quvenzhané Wallis at pinakamatandang nominado sa category na ito Emmanuelle Riva. Pareho ko silang gusto. Pero maaring iba ang makakuha lalo na matunog din si Jennifer Lawrence. Ito ang aking ranking:

I go for Ang Lee of "Life of Pi". Second for me is Benh Zeitlin of "Beast of the Southern Wild".

Natatawa ako sa mga dialogue ng Django Unchained, so para sa akin, ito ang mananalo. Pero gusto ko rin ang "Moonrise Kingdom".

This is it! My top 3 contenders for the Best Picture Award...

Wala na akong pakialam sa mga prediksyon ng iba lalo na sa mga eksperto daw sa mga ganitong bagay.. hehehe.. Basta ito ang tatlong pinaka-nagustuhan ko at sa palagay kong mananalo sa Awards Day sa Lunes na (Philippine Time).


And the 3rd place goes to..


3. Django Unchained

"Gentlemen, you had my curiosity. But now you have my attention."

Brutal -- ganito nga talaga yata ang forte ni Quentin Tarantado este Tarantino... 

Ganunpaman, nag-enjoy ako sa movie na ito, hindi lang sa mga brutal na barilan, pati na rin sa mga dialogue ng bawat karakter sa pelikula.

Magaling dito si Jamie Foxx, bilang isang dating slave na si Django (Bustamante, LOL) na sa tulong ni Dr. Schultz, nagkaroon siya ng pagkakataon na rumesbak sa mga nang-api sa kanya at kumuha sa kanyang asawa.

This time, kontrabida itong si Leonardo DiCaprio, pero magaling din siya.

Dahil inaantok na ako ngayon, ayoko nang ikwento, panoorin nyo na lang! Hahaha...

2. Les Misérables

“To love another person is to see the face of God.” 

Alam na. Hindi na kailangang i-elaborate pa ang kwento nito. Alam nyo na ito. Matatanda na kayo! LOL!

Pero di naman ako talaga fan ng musical na ito, ang masasabi ko lang... ok ang movie. Pero mas ok pa rin ang The Sound of Music. Hehehe...

I just wonder, kumusta na kaya si Ricky Lo? Hehehe.. Oh.. that's a very personal question.. hehehe. Eh yung PANTENE Diet nya, kumusta kaya? Hahaha... 

Ayoko rin kayong imbitahan na panoorin ang pelikulang ito. Let Anne Hathaway do the honor!!!!

1. Life of Pi

"Doubt is useful, it keeps faith a living thing. After all, you cannot know the strength of your faith until it is tested."


Tatlong beses ko pinanood ito.. sa sine, sa computer at sa tv... hahaha...

Di naman halata na gusto ko ang movie na ito?

Although base sa mga movie critic at mga fearless forecast na nababasa ko, hindi masyadong bine-bet ito bilang top contender.. Some say Argo can bag the trophy.

Pero sa akin, ito pa rin ang mas nagpakita ng inspiration sa madlang audience katulad ko, hindi ko lang alam sa mga hurado. Sayang, hindi ako napiling hurado ng Oscars ngayon taon. LOL!


Ito ay kwento ni Pi... hehehe... Si Pi na walang malay, puro na lang si Pi!

Kwento rin ito ni Richard Parker, isang tigre na na-develop kay Pi. Joke!

Since ang director nito ay si Ang Lee, who happened to be the director of the chinese film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", may nagsasabi na si Richard Parker din yung nasa movie na yun. LOL! Kornik!
Basta panoorin nyo na lang.... hahaha..

Oscars 2013 Best Picture Prediction: "The Middle 3"

Ok. Let's continue our round down for my movie review for all the 9 nominees for 2013 Oscars Best Picture...

Movie number 6 goes to...

6. Argo

"This is the best bad plan we have... by far, sir."

Habang pinapanood ko ito, naalala ko ang pelikulang Frost/Nixon.. pero after kong mapanood ang kabuuan ng pelikula, ah.. di hamak na mas nag-enjoy ako sa Frost/Nixon.

Siguro dahil pang-matalino ang pelikulang ito, hindi ako masyadong naka-relate. LOL! 

Base sa totoong pangyayari ang pelikula.. pero sa totoo lang, wala akong idea sa pangyayaring iyon kasi late 70's pa ang kaganapang iyon. Hahaha.. 

Nang-hostage noon ang bansang Iran ng 50 US embassy staff dahil sa hindi ko maintindihang political issue between the 2 nations. Again, dahil ang tagal na nang pangyayaring ito at wala sa mga History books na pinag-aralan namin nung elementary at high school.. (nag-explain, hahaha!)

Anim na staff na iyon ang nakatakas at nagtago sa bahay ng Canadian ambassador na naka-destino sa Iran.

At dahil dito, isang CIA specialist sa US ang gustong umeksena --siya ay si Tony Mendez (Ben Affleck).

Nakaisip siya ng isang paraan para mai-uwi ang anim na yun. Ang naisip nya -- gumawa ng fake na pelikula at gawin kunwaring staff and crew ang anim na yun para gawing daan upang hindi sila pagdudahan kung sakaling gusto na nilang lumabas ng Iran.

Nagtagumpay kaya sila? Panoorin nyo na lang.. LOL!

Basta ako, sa ending part lang ako na-excite sa pelikulang ito. Buti na lang at hindi sa sinehan ko siya pinanood.. hahaha!

5. Silver Linings Playbook

"True love is about letting her go and seeing if she returns..."


Kumpara sa mga ibang nominees, mas simple ang atake ng pelikulang ito. Hindi masyadong mag-iisip pero kailangan mong makinig mabuti sa bawat sinasambit ng mga karakter ng pelikula.

Dalawang magkaibang katauhan ang pinagtagpo ng tadhana --bawat isa ay may problemang hinaharap at kailangang ma-resolba, di man agad-agad, pero kailangan pa rin for their personal fulfillment. Yung isa, may bipolar disorder, at yung isa naman ay isang sex addict.

Nag-enjoy naman ako sa pelikulang ito, kasi nga, di na ako masyadong nag-isip.. hahaha..

4. Beasts of the Southern Wild

"I hope you die and after you die I'll go to your grave and eat birthday cake all by myself."


Nag-enjoy ako kay Hushpuppy! LOL! At sa kanyang medyo pabayang tatay na si Wink.. hehehe..

Hindi "feel-good" ang movie pero naaliw ako.. hehehe.. 

Seryoso ang tema ng pelikula pero dahil bata ang bida, parang nanonood na rin ako ng Sesame Street..

Idol ko si Hushpuppy dahil sa ipinakita nyang katatagan at determinasyon, kahit siya ay isang limang taong gulang na bata lamang. At isa pa, sa lahat ng pelikulang nominado as Best Picture, ito ang pinaka-maiksi.. hehehe.. wala nang kung anu-ano pang pampatagal lang sa pelikula...
